The preparation of the scientific program is in full swing, and next week we will begin to disclose the details of the program that awaits you at the Videourology Congress in Moscow.
Today we want to talk about Dr. Ralph V. Clayman. Many know him as the legendary endourologist and virtuoso surgeon, who pioneered the world's first laparoscopic nephrectomy. However, there is more to this pioneer than many know. In 2009, he attained the crowning achievement in academic medicine accepting the position as dean of UCI School of Medicine. During his 5-year term as Dean, the UCI School of Medicine obtained many achievements: full accreditation from the LCME, a positive financial balance, opened new facilities, and experienced significant growth in its academic profile. Even though all of this was accomplished, very early into his term, he realized there was a lack of preparedness for a position so demanding and set out to write an academic guide on leadership.
